Data / Hybrid cohort
Relational Modeling Studio
From domain interviews to constraints, design schemas that survive reporting churn.
Overview
Product managers and engineers pair in this studio format. You capture Vietnamese-language requirements, translate them into entity diagrams, and defend choices against synthetic change requests.
What is included
- Domain interview recordings with transcript annotations
- Constraint modeling labs covering CHECK vs. lookup tables
- Slowly changing dimension lab with Type 2 walkthrough
- Reverse-engineering exercise from a messy legacy dump
- Facilitated critique circles with career coaches
- JSONB vs. relational trade-off case study

Outcomes you can show
- Publish a constraint matrix tied to business rules.
- Facilitate a twenty-minute design review using cohort critique norms.
- Ship a migration sketch for a breaking schema change.
Experience notes
“Chi’s critique on my SCD notes caught a cardinality assumption I had copied from a stale spreadsheet.”
“Reverse-engineering exercise exposed how we named the same entity three ways—now our ER draft matches the bilingual glossary Khanh ships.”
FAQ
Is this only for engineers?
Mixed roles welcome. We assign bilingual pairs so product voices stay in the room.
Which tooling?
Diagrams may be done in dbdiagram.io, Mermaid, or analog—consistency matters more than vendor.
What is excluded?
We do not certify you on enterprise data governance frameworks; those belong to follow-on corporate engagements.
